In gastronomy, echinacea is primarily used for teas and aromatic drinks, but its petals and leaves can also decorate salads and desserts. In some recipes, its roots are used to flavor liqueurs and homemade syrups.

A unique recipe is echinacea honey syrup:

  1. Boil 500 ml of water and add two tablespoons of dried echinacea flowers.

  2. Let steep for 15 minutes, then strain.

  3. Mix with 250 g of honey and stir well.

  4. Store in a jar and use to sweeten drinks or drizzle over desserts.

Interestingly, Native Americans used dried echinacea stems to craft tools and decorative items.
